One of our favourite lunch spots in Manchester has to be Mackie Mayor. Set within a stunning 1858 Grade II listed market building, the food hall in the heart of the Northern Quarter has stalls serving everything from artisan pizza and fresh fish dishes to Taiwanese steamed buns and cocktails.

With its unique trestle table set up, it has a friendly, sociable atmosphere and there’s truly something to suit everyone’s tastes.

Time To Explore

After stopping to refuel, we recommend visiting the highly Instagrammable neighbourhood of Ancoats, one of the most trendy areas you can find in Manchester.

Full of beautifully converted mill buildings and quaint side streets, Ancoats’ unique, hip culture radiates from its independent cafes and art venues. Grab yourself a coffee from Pollen Bakery and take a stroll by Ancoats’ very own waterside oasis – Islington Marina.
